Annual Review of the EMP

Policy

The University of Vermont's Environmental Policy for Laboratory Operations includes commitments to regulatory compliance, waste minimization, risk reduction and continual improvement of the environmental management system.

On an annual basis, the UVM Environmental Management Plan will be reviewed by upper management to assure that it is meeting these commitments in an appropriate and cost-effective manner. This review will include a report on the current results of the nine Environmental Performance Indicators required by the Project XL Final Project Agreement.

Plan

Who:

UVM's Environmental Management Plan will be reviewed by the Vice Provost for Research or their designee annually. This review will include the results of the Environmental Performance Indicators being developed for the Project XL pilot program.

When:

This review will take place on the anniversary of the Project XL rule taking effect for UVM (April 28). At the same time, amendments to the Environmental Management Plan will be considered as appropriate.

Where:

This review will cover all laboratories covered by the UVM Chemical Hygiene Plan or the UVM Environmental Management Plan

Records

The Review and Change Record will be maintained by the ESF staff for at least three years. The most current version of the EMP will be maintained on the UVM Environmental Safety Facility web site at http://esf.uvm.edu
