Turning the Page
With
this issue of No Parkin' Zone, we turn the page to a new chapter in the
history of CNYPSG. Inc. It's official. We are moving.
The
Board of Directors voted at their annual meeting in April to move our monthly
meetings from the New Hartford United Methodist Church, where we have been
holding most of our meetings for the entire 15 1/2 years of our existence, to
the campus of Presbyterian Homes and services, which is also in New
Hartford. Starting in September, 2007, we will meet in the Presbyterian
Home's Emmaus Room for our regular third Tuesday get-togethers at
12:30 PM.
Our
hope is to better serve the Parkinson community by making our group
available to the many Parkinson residents as well as to their families and
friends.
We
decided to hold our September meeting in an "Open House" format in
order to give anyone interested in knowing more about PD or curious about the
role of the support group a chance to stop by and see what we are all
about. At the same time visitors can learn what the Presbyterian Home is
doing to improve the quality of life for PWP (people with Parkinson's).
Since this is our first official meeting in our "new home" at the
Home, we invite everyone with an interest to stop in. There will be
refreshments provided by the Presbyterian Home, an M&M Show presented by
the team of McCaffrey and Moylan, ample time to ask questions, plus lots of
material on Parkinson's disease to take with you.
Plan to come. Bring a friend!

Special Message to
our friends at the First United Methodist Church of New Hartford:
"Thanks for the Memories."

CNYPSG,
Inc. is so grateful for the welcoming attitude with which we have always been
greeted when we walk through your doors. For more than 15 years you have
been there for us when we needed you. Not only have we been given a comfortable
and very accessible place to meet, we have also sensed a genuine warmth, a
caring concern, and a willingness to help. We have been made to feel that we
are a part of your church family and a part of your church's mission.
We
send to you a huge THANK YOU from CNYPSG, and we take with us armloads of
pleasant memories
of the time spent at New Hartford Methodist.
In
addition we send our best wishes to three gentlemen recently retired from
service to the church. First is Jim Kehoe, church custodian, a good friend to our group. We could
always count on Jim to have everything set up and ready to go. Second is Rev.
Bruce Webster who has always shown an interest in our group and has been kind
enough to share his musical expertise at the piano. The third retiree is
Rev. Carl Johnson who is retiring as District Superintendent for this
area. But, back in 1991, when the PD support group was forming, Carl was
pastor of the New Hartford Church and was one of the people who founded the
support group.
