ParkinsonÕs Awareness Walk

Plans
are well underway at the Presbyterian Homes & Services, Inc. for the 4th
Annual Ted Kroll Memorial PAW (ParkinsonÕs Awareness Walk). The goal is to
raise funds to completely renovate the Presbyterian HomeÕs ParkinsonÕs/Movement
Impairment Residence into a state-of- the-art, high tech living environment.
The
walk will include wheelchairs, walkers, and a new addition this year will be a ÓRock-A-Thon.Ó There will be rocking chairs for you to
Rock to
the music and help raise funds for the residence.
This
year the Grand Marshall/Honoree will be Benny Mardones, a well-known singer
from Syracuse, NY who also has PD.
Get
your friends, family, co-workers or acquaintances to walk or rock with you,
form a team or give support as a sponsor

Every
walker/rocker must be registered to receive a T-shirt.
PAW 2006 Bottle Drive We are asking your help in raising funds for the
2006 PAW event. Please bring your empty soda cans & bottles to the
CNYPSG picnic on July 18 and they will be sent to the Presbyterian Home for
their bottle drive during the week of July 20- 27. Please help out by
rinsing the bottles & cans before you bring them.

Benny
Mardones, nicknamed ÒThe VoiceÓ in 1980 because of his incredible 3 ½
octave range as well as for his performance of his Grammy-nominated song ÒInto
the NightÓ is our 2006 Honoree for the Parkinson Awareness Walk Event. This
event will be held at the Presbyterian Home for CNY, Inc., on Saturday, Sept.
16, 2006.
Benny
is a well-know musician who has performed in this area for many years and he
continues to sing before a sell out crowd. He has shared the stage with Fleetwood Mac and the Rolling
Stones, has played alongside the Otis Redding Band, and toured with Roy
Orbison. His song ÒInto the
NightÓ has become a radio classic across the country, topping the charts twice,
and it continues to be one of the most frequently played tunes in music
history. Benny continues to record
and has just recently released his latest original music with a new CD
entitled, ÒLetÕs Hear it for Love.Ó
Benny was diagnosed with ParkinsonÕs Disease in 2002. Please join Benny and the Presbyterian
Home for a day to have fun, meet others, and raise money to help support our
ParkinsonÕs residence and community outreach programs.
