Benny Mardones-2006 PAW Honoree

Benny Mardones, nicknamed ÒThe VoiceÓ in 1980 because of his incredible 3 ½ octave range as well as for his performance of his Grammy-nominated song ÒInto the NightÓ is our 2006 Honoree for the Parkinson Awareness Walk Event.  This event will be held at the Presbyterian Home for CNY, Inc., on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006.

Benny is a well-know musician who has performed in this area for many years and he continues to sing before a sell out crowd.  He has shared the stage with Fleetwood Mac and the Rolling Stones, has played alongside the Otis Redding Band, and toured with Roy Orbison.   His song ÒInto the NightÓ has become a radio classic across the country, topping the charts twice, and it continues to be one of the most frequently played tunes in music history.  Benny continues to record and has just recently released his latest original music with a new CD entitled, ÒLetÕs Hear it for Love.Ó

Benny was diagnosed with ParkinsonÕs Disease in 2002.  Please join Benny and the Presbyterian Home for a day to have fun, meet others, and raise money to help support our ParkinsonÕs residence and community outreach programs.
