MEETING NOTES

Our first meeting of 2006 was held on January 17th. A video tape, ÓDiagnosis ParkinsonÕs disease: You are not aloneÓ was presented followed by a group discussion.

During our February meeting, another of our videos from ÒThe Parkinson Care SeriesÓ was shown to the group. This tape dealt with ÒEmotional Health.Ó  This was followed by another video called ÒThe Joys of StressÓ which brought lots of humor for the group to enjoy. We thank Bruno Piretti for bringing the video to help us with our Ôemotional health.Õ

Our meeting on March 21st was most informative as Marge and Pat Moylan described some of the highlights of their recent trip to the World Parkinson Congress held in Washington, D.C. in February. Paul and Mary Dinicola from Syracuse also gave some of their impressions of the Congress. We were pleased to have them join us and hope they do so again.

Joe Krex and Denise Rex from Verona Beach were also present at our March meeting. They are the founders of the Carl & Ann Krex Gift Foundation, Inc. Their goal is to assist caregivers both emotionally and financially in caring for loved ones in their homes. We thank them for making us aware of their corporation and we look forward to seeing them again.

WELCOME!!

We are always happy to see new faces at our meetings. We welcome Jennifer Vogt, an OT student from Utica College and also Maureen Hazzard from Utica. We hope you continue to join us!

M&M Shows & Health Fairs

The Moylans and the McCaffreys were pleased to accept an invitation to present the M&M Show to the residents and staff of the Swancott Home in Utica on March 7th.

We were also invited to participate in a health fair hosted by the DSO/EAP held on March 24th at the New York State School for the Deaf in Rome. We are always glad to participate in this function as it is always well attended and gives us a great opportunity to make our information available and answer questions about PD.
